FactoryTalk View Studio 6

FactoryTalk View Studio 6 FactoryTalk View Studio 6 is the Rockwell Automation development environment for machine and process visualization. It builds PanelView operator screens and FactoryTalk View Site Edition SCADA applications on the same tag database the controllers already use, so one engineering tool covers everything from a single HMI terminal to a multi-server production network.

Core Functions. Drag-and-drop screen design with a library of ready-made objects — buttons, indicators, trends, alarms and recipes — keeps page building fast, while animation links connect graphics directly to controller tags without scripting. The alarm engine manages annunciation, logging and event history, and data logging records production values for later analysis. VBA and object model support opens the door to custom behavior where standard objects are not enough. Site Edition applications scale from a standalone station to redundant server pairs with multi-client access, and recipes plus user security with per-station privileges support regulated production lines. Displays can be tested against a live controller or a simulation before deployment, and projects move between development and runtime with a single export.

New in Version 6. Version 6 modernizes the display editor, expands the graphic object library, and tightens integration with the current FactoryTalk services layer. Application deployment and version handling were streamlined, and accumulated fixes from field use are included.

Supported Systems. Supported systems: Windows 10 and Windows 11, 64-bit. PanelView applications require the matching firmware generation. Recommended: 8 GB RAM, 20 GB free disk space.
