Visual Components OLP 4.8

Visual Components OLP 4.8 As part of Visual Components’s engineering portfolio, Visual Components OLP 4.8 delivers a complete offline robot programming and simulation environment: one project structure, one data model, and one interface covering the full lifecycle of robot programming work from concept to production support.

Core Functions. External-axis management covers positioners, tracks, and turntables, and conveyor tracking aligns simulated and real transport speeds for realistic pick-and-place trials. Comprehensive robot and controller libraries include current and legacy models, so existing cells can be rebuilt, audited, and upgraded inside the same project. Full 3D work-cell modeling with accurate kinematics lets you place robots, fixtures, and peripherals and immediately verify reachability and cycle feasibility before any hardware is ordered. Multi-robot coordination supports synchronized and cooperative motion, automatic interference checking, and shared work-space management across cells. Virtual commissioning links simulated controller logic to the robot model, allowing full-system trials of PLC interaction, signaling, and fault recovery before installation. Built-in OLP editing, target management, and frame calibration tools keep teaching productive even on large programs with thousands of points. Cycle-time analysis highlights bottlenecks and suggests motion refinements, while collision detection with configurable safety zones protects people and equipment during validation. Path planning handles complex trajectories — weld seams, dispensing beads, and deburring contours — with consistent parameter control along the whole path. Project templates and reusable libraries standardize repeat work, so every new job starts from proven material instead of a blank page. Integration interfaces connect the environment with surrounding engineering and enterprise systems, avoiding manual data transfers. Backward compatibility is respected, and migration helpers bring forward projects from previous product generations. Backup, restore, and archiving functions protect engineering data with configurable strategies suited to production environments. Scalable architecture serves small teams and multi-site engineering organizations with the same project discipline. Licensing options cover single workplaces as well as networked teams, with straightforward license administration. Audit trails and access control support regulated industries where traceability of every change is a formal requirement.

New in Version 4.8. Version 4.8 extends device and library coverage, adds usability refinements to the most-used editors, and improves project conversion reliability. What is new in 4.8: refreshed user-interface details, quicker diagnostics views, and tighter integration with the vendor’s current hardware generation. Version 4.8 brings expanded language support, improved import of legacy projects, and a batch of quality fixes reported by field users.

Supported Systems. System requirements: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, 8 GB RAM minimum, 10 GB free disk space, and administrator rights for installation and device communication.
